Hello there, !

As you can tell from the frequent updates, the compositing system built into SceneForge is rapidly improving in each update, and I'm excited to announce that in this quick release, the image keyer is now available!

As always, you can read on for more info, or check out the video below:

Image Keying

Image keying is a lot like chroma keying, except rather than a color to remove, you specify a "clean plate" without your subject, and it "keys" out all similar pixels.

This allows for much more detailed keys, even removing background elements that aren't green-screen.

The one drawback is that it only works with a stationary camera*, and requires your clean plate to be identical to the video feed, just without your subject in frame. That being said, it's a great way to continue experimenting with compositing without much effort.

Simply select a clean plate image instead of a color, and all other sliders work the same way!

*For moving camera shots, I recommend using the "Content-Aware Clipping" feature.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!

Thanks for reading!
