Spout Output + Improved PDF Export | SceneForge 0.5.23

May 04, 2022 1:01 pm

Hello there!

Normally I don't send posts for small bug fixes, but seeing as these are things that people have reported and suggested, I wanted to share them in this post!

1)

To handle multiple displays and virtual camera output, the Spout option was added back to Shoot Mode. This takes the currently active camera and makes it available to another Spout-enabled application on your Windows PC.

When SceneForge comes to Mac, Syphon will be used instead and functions the same way.

2)

Previously after downloading a model using the built-in SketchFab browser, you had to manually import it. This was an unnecessary step that has since been eliminated. Now, immediately after a model is finished downloading, the import window will appear, allowing you to continue your scene design seamlessly.

3)

And this is probably the most exciting new feature: PDF Export for Storyboards is now literally ten times faster than it was previously. That's because rather than using a dedicated system for PDF export like SceneForge previously was, it's now piggybacking off PDF export functionality that's already included with your PC!

This results in more consistent output regardless of the content of your storyboard, not to mention being significantly faster. It also includes auto-page-numbering and titling among other nice metadata.

Thanks for reading!
