Chromakey Compositing Available Now! - SceneForge 0.5.0

Hello there!


This is super exciting because it's one of my favorite features that's been in development for a long time.

Because of this, it has changed and evolved throughout development and different demo videos were made to showcase this feature. Finally, we have an iteration that works well and is available in version 0.5.0.

One of the challenges of compositing 2D footage in a 3D world is the perspective.


Normally to solve this problem using Virtual Production, the camera is tracked and the footage is bound to the virtual camera lens. This allows the virtual camera and real camera to be in the exact same place.

At the moment SceneForge doesn't support this, but it is coming in a later release!


What SceneForge does have is projecting footage onto a 3D plane in the world. This allows for easier positioning of the footage anywhere in your scene. To combat the issue of perspective, SceneForge allows you to have the footage always face the camera, and even track the subject in the frame to ensure the pivot point is in the correct place.
