Exciting New Features Means New Prices | SceneForge Studio Update
May 06, 2022 3:01 pm
Hello there!
First off, I just wanted to thank you for being an early adopter of SceneForge studio. We hope you got much use out of the existing feature-set, which will continue to grow and expand.
As development continues and evolves out of the realm of "Early Access", the free version that you have been using will evolve as well, and a new tier and pricing structure will be added soon.
So, what's changing?
Great question! You can continue using the 100% free version forever, though its limitations and feature set will change to accommodate this new pricing structure.
For example: Live Compositing and Camera Tracking are considered advanced features that will no longer be available in the free version once it leaves "Early Access".
What are the new prices?
As mentioned, the free version will remain free, albeit with more limitations than before.
Now there is an additional "middle-ground" tier that adds more functionality that you have become familiar with.
This will be a $79 One-Time Purchase that will be tied to your account forever and includes commercial use rights, among other features. This tier has no subscriptions and is aimed at hobbyists and students.
But for those who require even further advanced functionality such as OSC support, In-Camera VFX Rigs, and 8K Exports (among other cool stuff), the Pro Version will remain available at its current pricing of $25/mo or $240/yr.
This subscription allows us to provide frequent feature updates and ensure consistent quality throughout the software.
When are these changes happening?
This won't be for another month or so, but until then you may see some changes in the way SceneForge handles the current free version. These are simply to make the transition easier on the development side and shouldn't affect the existing use of the app in a significant way.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply right to this email, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you again for your early support and feedback,
I look forward to continuing to work with you.
