From Storyboard to Scene | The SceneForge Workflow
Oct 26, 2022 1:30 pm
Hello there, !
This is a quick update because I wanted to share two longer videos added to the YouTube channel. They showcase the complete end-to-end workflow of translating a hand-drawn storyboard into a 3D scene, and then finally into a prototype animatic, complete with composited footage -- perfect for pre-vis, pitch-vis, or look-dev.
You can check them out below!
The Haunted House
This scene is made up of three distinct scenes within the SceneForge project to keep things organized. One for the hill exterior, one for the house exterior, and one for the house interior.
A full video breakdown can be watched below:
The Cyberpunk City
This was actually the first scene that I did for this series. I experimented with different lighting scenarios before finally switching from night to day. I think it helped blend the composited footage in a bit better.
The video breakdown can be seen below:
Overall, I think the Haunted House scene was more successful because more time was spent on it (1.5 hrs vs 45 min), was overall more complex, and the footage I took of myself fit in a bit better. I look forward to creating more scenes and sharing them in the near future!
If you have any questions, thoughts, or feedback, don't hesitate to reach out!
Thanks for reading and watching!
