Hello there!

This is just a quick message going over the new features in SceneForge version 0.5.19. As always, you can check out the video below, or read on for more details!

What's new:

Chromakey:

  • The chromakey configuration window has been revamped to alter the actual, live version of the video surface in the scene. This results in a better sense of what the final output will look like when configuring.
  • The live camera functionality works much smoother.

Networking:

Open Sound Control support was added so now you can control select properties of your project from any OSC-enabled application over your local network. Check out the video for an example, or the documentation here.

What's next?

OSC:

One of the great things about OSC is that it will accept most types of data from almost anywhere. This means that in the future, you can use any existing camera tracking system (Vive, etc.) with an OSC server to utilize SceneForge's existing tracking features.

Chromakey:

Because SceneForge is aimed at indies and influencers, we know that not everyone has a large Green Screen stage to use. That's why in the next iteration of the chromakey functionality, the software will automatically crop the image to hide any non-chromakey areas as the camera moves around. This essentially simulates having a much larger area to move around, without the need for one!

Thanks for reading!
