Content Frontloading and Ambassador Program! | SceneForge 0.6.40

Hello there !

This is a smaller update, but one that you should be aware of. As always you can take a look at the video overview below!

What's New?

A splash screen was added on launch of the app!

Rather than loading/caching certain types of content on the fly, which can cause slowdowns during normal SceneForge editor use, these files are now loaded/cached on startup, much in the same way that other creative software does as well. (Think Photoshop, Unreal Engine, etc.)

This is all done behind the splash screen so you know everything will be nice and ready by the time you load up a project.


This has the added benefit of improving load speeds for material selection menus, as well as making sure that all icons are visible when loading back a project.


It also allows the login screen to be much nicer and more integrated into the UI.

High Quality Terrain Textures:

Additionally, the terrain texture system has been overhauled to no longer be compatible with the existing material library. While this sounds like a limitation, it allows us to be much more selective in what materials are available for terrains, simply because they're more advanced than the other materials included with the software.


This results in your terrains looking much more realistic and natural.


Ambassador Program:

This is an exciting announcement! As more and more people come to our platform, having a wide number of available learning resources is important. While there is our own YouTube channel and documentation site, content directly from real users would really help the community.
