Customize and Bind Model Materials/Textures | SceneForge 0.6.25

Hello there !

This is a super exciting update that will improve your workflow when importing 3D models. As always, you can check out the video below!

What's New?

SceneForge currently auto-detects textures that are either embedded or referenced within a 3D model's source file. But for models that require manual material setup, there previously wasn't a way to do this. Now there is!

  • Using the Material Editing Window you can now manually import and select image files for materials' Albedo, Normal, and Metallic maps.
  • This offers a solution to importing some models that don't have embedded textures or texture references.
  • It also allows you to easily swap out texture variants to test different looks!

What's Next?

In the next major release, a scene export feature will be available, allowing you to use your SceneForge scenes in other 3D programs for editing and rendering if needed. This is perfect for taking your pre-vis scenes and storyboards, and working off of them in more advanced/technically-inclined software.
