Upcoming Chromakey Overhaul | SceneForge Studio
Sep 07, 2022 4:30 pm
Hello there, !
I'm excited to share that a complete overhaul to the Chromakey Compositing system is coming this week!
It now allows for proper transparent materials, smart masked despill, customizable bounce lighting, and more!
You can even customize the view mode for easy editing within SceneForge!
(Above, left to right) Source, Final, Alpha Matte, Despill Matte
It is superior to the old version, while still having all the great features like garbage mattes, content-aware clipping, and body tracking.
Additionally, in the works is real-time light wrap functionality for improved compositing -- this will be coming a few days later.
With this new system, you can also specify a clean plate to your Key for proper Image-Based-Keying, to handle situations that the traditional chroma-keyer can't!
While it is being built for use solely within SceneForge, it is fully compatible with the Unity Realtime Engine, so as development continues, I am considering making it available for native Unity use as well -- Feel free to contact me if this is something you would be interested in.
I'm super excited to bring this new system to the SceneForge community and can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Important to Know:
While this system is completely compatible with all existing footage and scenes, please note that you will need to re-adjust some of the properties in the Compositing menu to accommodate the different properties now available.
If you have any questions, feedback, feature requests, or bug reports, don't hesitate to reply right to this message!
Thanks for reading!
