Improved Material Editing! | SceneForge 0.7.37
Nov 29, 2022 3:11 am
Hello there, !
It's been a little while since the last feature update and that's because I've been hard at work on retooling the material importing and editing system to be more robust and flexible. As always you can check out a video overview below!
What's New?
- Now, you can easily edit materials' properties after importing them by simply right-clicking on the material's icon in the selector menu.
- Now you can instance "default" materials for easy prototyping and color-coding of scene block-outs.
- When editing an imported material, it affects all instances of that material, similar to editing the materials of imported objects.
What's next?
- In the future you will be able to control the instancing of imported materials so you can have different variations of the same textures.
- Additionally, both the model and material library will be stored within the same menu for a more uniform asset-browser experience more in-line with what Unreal or Unity offers.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!
