Breathe: Valley Walk & Talk Friday 11th April
Apr 01, 2025 9:19 am
Hello , my fellow brave human
A couple of weeks ago I stood next to Jenny Leggate, launching the (Almost) Open Day at a 700 acre farm beautifully named Set Aside. It was three years to the day that Jenny’s husband had died, and this was a brilliant dedication to him and an original vision that they both had embarked on.
Jenny had asked me a few months ago to help her make her vision into a reality, and I felt like the luckiest person on the planet.
What I love about Set Aside is its diverse landscape that Jenny is opening up where people can teach, learn and heal. Part wilderness, part organic livestock farm. I have been completely inspired by her vision and approach.
She is doing it her way, not the way others think it should be done, iteratively and organically - and absolutely sticking to her values and vision.
So I thought it would be apt to bring people to this beautiful space for a valley walk on the theme of Purpose and Perspective.
What to Expect
The time to step away from screens, deadlines and the constant noise of modern life. Together, we'll:
- Wander along the Greenlawdean Valley that skirts the 700 acres of organic farmland, wild spaces and natural beauty
- Connect with like-minded individuals in meaningful conversation
- Experience the restorative power of being in nature
- Make sense of our rapidly changing world in a supportive environment
- Engage in gentle guided reflections that help ground and centre you
No agenda, no PowerPoints – just open space, fresh air, and authentic connection.
About Set Aside
Set Aside is the vision of Jenny Leggate – a remarkable woman who is reimagining what land stewardship can be in the 21st century. This 700-acre organic farm features:
- Mixed woodland and wildflower meadow
- A river and reservoir
- Archaeological site
- Off-grid huts (beautifully furnished!)
- Wild camping spaces
Jenny's philosophy – "If it's not used in two years' time, it's not needed" – infuses everything at Set Aside. This is a space for experimentation, learning, and finding new ways to connect with the land and each other.
Why Breathe: Walk & Talk?
In times of great change and uncertainty, we all need spaces to:
- Process thoughts and feelings
- Connect with others who understand their journey
- Restore energy and resilience
- Find clarity amidst complexity
- Remember why you do what you do
Breathe: Walk & Talk creates that space, allowing you to return to your life with renewed purpose and energy.
