And to all the present readers, I have kept you waiting, but the wait is almost over.
The end of the year is close enough to smell, and it gives the sweet scent of danger, deceit, and a second installment in my Torture Games series that might make you change your mind about me.
Who am I kidding?
Some of you are going to love me even more.
To the others, I say, give it time. I am like black mold that spreads when you are not paying attention. So, without leaving you hanging (like I did to certain other characters), here are a few wild notions.
I know this is going to sound very childish, but it’s my FREAKING BIRTHDAY next month.
And although I am not requiring chicken bone ruins or proof of life to have a day with my friends, it still makes me happy to think that they will be showing up to join in with the juvenile festivities that will be my 40th birthday party.
On the down low, my hubby arranged everything, and not to brag, but I will be having a Spiderman bouncy castle.
As if Spidey could keep up with my insatiable zest for life and arthritic hip.
Not to mention, I have a Llama piñata that I am going to beat the living crap out of as any respectable adult should.
Oh, to see colorful pieces detach and fly into the crowd, watching the magnificent display of rage. I find it quite cathartic and freeing to exert my adult frustration in spectacular fashion and still get rewarded.
At 40, I realize that it should be a dignified affair, but who is going to set the fun police on me? See, a writer can romanticize anything. But keep that in mind when I let you know what I have planned.
Either way, let me introduce you to my next party victim. This is Pippa.
He has a fluffy tail and seems to know what is coming.
I didn’t warn him. Seems inappropriate.
Besides, I like my sneak attacks while others are at my mercy. Just ask any of my male characters in Sweet Misery.
I have the most exciting book I am beta-reading at the moment.
It’s called Broken Blood Bonds by M Kay Noir, and I am completely invested in this story.
Of course, I am also trying to sound professional when I ask questions and make comments, but honestly, all I can do is devour the book and act like a book gremlin when someone approaches me.
If this isn’t really your scene, I suggest you make time to regroup and retry some new things. If only to see k!nk reign supreme.
This is coming after a grueling editing stint for Sweet Misery. I am so close to the release that I can smell the decaying flesh. (IYKYK)
Then, to my genuine surprise, I hankered for a Christmas tale.
I started earlier this year with a cutesy little story of misunderstood identities and the insufferable need for a Santa Claus.
Naturally, I can guarantee that it is going to turn dark, and even Krampus has made an appearance on my mood board. It’s always good to attach personality traits to a character, and the Grinch was just way too tame for what I had in mind.
Although this is still in the planning stage, aka chapter one for a pantser like me. I would like to finish it, maybe for my last release this year.
All I can say is hold on to your clumps of coal because I will be giving my readers a wild ride with my December release.
Which will be my gift to you, my special darklings.
