Draft 1 of Book 3 is done!

Ahhhhhhh. The manuscript formally known as Book 3 is finished. I'm doing serious edits now to prepare to turn my editor loose on it. She'll do a round of developmental editing, we'll have some Alpha reads, then she will fix my grammar (could take years), then we'll polish and ruthlessly hunt down typos. I don't have a date yet. I have a working title I've been using for a couple of months, but I was encouraged to get some others to read it before letting that out into the wild.

That doesn't mean I can't be a little spoilery. My lovely wife and editor doesn't read my newsletter, so I'm gonna drop a sample section. No context.

Anuka leapt to his feet and screamed, “You’ve no right to lecture me on duty!”

His mother fell back as if she had been struck.

“I was your duty, Mama.” Anuka spat the last word with the venom of a thousand asps. He was no longer a weak little goblin child. Power surged within him. “Me and Papa. That was your duty! Your family. The one you made. The family that needed you. If you hadn’t left, I would still have Papa.” He nearly choked on the last word. "No. I’m done being weak."

Progress

Well, this update is about my progress. Draft 1 of Book 3 is done and edits are well under way. I have mentioned several other projects and I intend to start back on one of those (probably Tabir) while my manuscript is being edited.
