Time to Trim Down
Spring is such a fun time. Things are warming up after a few cold snaps here in Kentucky. The grass is growing; the days are getting long, and there is a new energy in the air.
After a tough battle with COVID at the beginning of the year, I'm finally getting back to myself. Apart from lingering respiratory issues, I've struggled with serious brain fog for months. I'm getting back into the groove.
Writing has been a challenge during this time. I'm finally stringing together some wins and getting a head of steam on Book 3 in the Dragons of Dorwine series. More on that below.
My sons and I are joining my brother in a lawn care venture that is sure to be a lot of fun and hard work. We are gearing up for our bi-annual trip to our family tree farm work trip (obligatory lumberJack photos shall ensue). My family and I have a list of Spring projects around the house. Busy, busy, busy. What are you gearing up for?
Do you have projects lined up for this Spring? I always love hearing from you. E-mail me at jack@authorjackadkins.com.
Progress
Forward progress on Book 3 has been challenging. This is good and bad. As soon as I get in a groove, I think of a better way of writing a particular part. This last epiphany meant a huge rewrite. While it will be much better in the end, it means more time to complete the book. But I'm committed to finishing this trilogy well. There are several storylines I'm looking to resolve, and some pipe needs to be laid for the next trilogy. I'm just over 60,000 words for Book 3. It's going to be bigger, funnier, and sadder than the other books in the series. Hopefully, better as well.
I'm splitting the Tabir story up and doing some editing, so it will be ready for Kindle Vella soon. I will include an excerpt for y'all in April.
Finally, the audiobook for The Dead of Winter is done. And I'm offering it to you, my subscribers, for FREE.
Kickstarter!
My buddy Tiger is running a Kickstarter campaign for his Beating Back the Darkness series. He is looking to redo the covers for the whole series. This is clean, epic, hope-filled fantasy at its finest.
