A Summer Full of Reading
It's easier for me to get motivated to do things when I do them with other people. That's why you have gym buddies, accountability groups, and partners in crime. As a book nerd, I want to read more than I do. As an author, I need to read more than I do. It's how I keep my creative tank full. If you want to read more this summer, you should check out the IFA Summer Reading Challenge.
It's not a book sales club or anything like that. Costs nothing. You join the challenge, pick a team, and you read books. When you read a book, you record your points. They also have fun games every week and free stuff all the time. PLUS, they have a ton of amazing prizes at the end of the challenge.
The Challenge starts June 21st, but go ahead and sign up now. The challenge is mostly ran through the Indie Fantasy Addicts Facebook page. You can join that here:
Going Places
This year, my wife and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. (Woohoo!) We are excited. Our plans involve a week in a cabin near Ashville, NC doing some of our favorite things. We'll be hitting up bookstores and antique shops, eating at amazing places, and reading/writing. (I'll be writing, she'll be editing)

I Have a Story Idea!
I hear this all the time. Folks tell me their story ideas hoping I'll write it for them. First off, I have a storage shed full of amazing ideas I'll never get to. Second, I encourage people to give writing a go and pen their own tales. Lots of folks ask me how to start writing. Would a blog series on how to get started writing a book be interesting to you? I'm editing Gharra (more on this later) for the Noblebright Alliance Discord Group. And I'm writing a short for an anthology due later this summer (more on that much later). I'll put bars up for these, as well.
