TL:DR

What's New (and Old) in FabianSpace

Thirty-three years ago today, on a chilly November afternoon at the Air Force Academy, I married Rob Fabian, 1LT USAF, space geek, Trekker, and the perfect man for me. We'd met in January through a mutual friend (Jeff Louie, who will be forever credited with our happy lives and four kids). We professed our love in 10 days (Jan 19) and were engaged in March only because I insisted he meet my parents in person (my Dad, for the second time). We married in November because that was the earliest date we could get the chapel (Rob's dream). I was already stationed in Italy, so our first two years of marriage were spent with an ocean between us, visiting each other every 4 months for a week.

We knew we were meant to be. We attended the same StarCon where my friend Danny and I won the poetry contest ("On Klingon Manners") and Rob unsuccessfully sought us out; we had mutual acquaintances at the Academy; my dad even gave Rob a speeding ticket in a very funny way that he told me so many times I had it memorized before Rob and I met. I believe God was putting us close, then realizing one or the other was not ready, then tweaking it so we did not meet.

Our life together has been marked with so many milestones: 4 kids, 2 countries, 9 states, homeschooling, retiring to new careers, a startup business in the most volatile industry ever (rockets--so literally and figuratively)... Rob says he was headed to a mediocre career and life before he met me. I know that he has made me a better person: stronger, happier, and more settled in who I am as a person.

I can't wait for what the next 33 years bring. As long as he's with me, I know we will soar.

Space Traipse Swag? Vern Merch? It's Here!

I've long wanted to have a T-shirt that said "Headaches Save Lives!" and others have asked about something with Vern on it, so when I took Octoiber off, I decided to bite the bullet and start my own store. I chose Redbubble because there are no dues and it promotes your store.

I've had fun indulging my artistic side, such as it is. I think I'm most proud of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Redshirt, Alien. I've wanted this design for years!

There are also a couple of designs with Vern quotes--please tell me the quotes you want to see from him! I also made one from Neeta Lyffe--Napalm Sticks to Zombies! I enabled most of the products and for some reason, Redbubble seems to allow even the ones I didn't. No worries. I disabled them because I didn't like the design, and really, who wants a shower curtain with "Stun First--Sort it out with the Captain later" on it?

Anyway, please check it out and if there's some funny saying you want of mine, let me know. My goal is to add an item or two each month.
