Goings On at the 'Stead

Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well! We've been very busy lately! We wrapped up the season for the farmers market in October and participated in a holiday market last weekend, celebrated two of our kids' birthdays over the past few weeks, got through Halloween, and have already celebrated one Thanksgiving with family. We have more family gatherings in the near future and Tyler is trying to finish our house addition before it gets very cold. He'll also be processing the last of our chickens for the year soon. There are about 170 chickens to process and a handful of turkeys. Later, he'll butcher our two pigs, and it's deer season!! Our son shot his first deer this year with a crossbow, and we're hoping for more success soon. Tyler does all the processing and butchering of our animals, so we get the quality, quantity, and cuts we want for our family. It's a lot of work, but well worth it. Our freezers should be stocked for the year, and we'll have pastured chicken to share with friends and family! If you'd like some of our amazing chicken for yourself, delivered monthly through the winter, just click here to sign up for the Winter CSA share! Deliveries start in December and run through February. We won't raise any more birds until Spring of next year, so there's a limited supply. Once our predetermined number of shares are sold, there won't be an option for more. Take advantage of the opportunity now to make sure you get your share!

Here are some pictures from our adventures lately. Roasted pumpkins and puree...

As you can see, we have much to be grateful for. We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday and find plenty to appreciate and celebrate!

In health and happiness,
