Yes, commercial banks are not intermediaries! My mind was 🤯 when I found this out. There is more to banking than just debit cards and deposits. Commercial banks are licensed to create money through lending. Bank deposits are simply a record of how much the bank itself owes its customers. So they are a liability of the bank, not an asset. Remember, we don't need banks to do banking. #crypto, #DeFi, and #nfts can change how we bank in the future—having transparency and accessibility to your money, sending and receiving value worldwide without a gatekeeper—controlling your data, privacy, and wealth within a decentralized ecosystem is a future worth exploring. Coins and tokens, aren't they the same thing? The short answer . To put it simply, all coins are considered tokens but not all tokens are considered crypto coins. Coins directly represent a proposed medium of exchange. Tokens, on the other hand, represent an asset. For example, the title to your car would be considered a token because it is an asset that you own. When you sell your car, you transfer the value of the title aka the "coin" to the new owner. However, you can't buy anything else with that title, or "token." A token represents what a person owns, while a coin denotes what they're capable to own. Let's talk crypto mining. Most people think of crypto mining simply as a way of creating new coins. Crypto mining, however, also involves validating cryptocurrency transactions on a blockchain network. Most importantly, crypto mining prevents the double-spending of digital currency on a distributed network. Like physical currencies, when one member spends cryptocurrency, the digital ledger must be updated by debiting one account and crediting the other. It's the same for cryptocurrencies. And crypto data mining ensures that all transactions are recorded, eliminating any overspending on a particular network. Do you have questions about crypto mining? So you invest in crypto, where do you store it? Good question. Unlike a regular wallet that you need to physically store your cash, your crypto doesn't actually live in your digital wallet. Your digital wallet holds what are known as 'private keys'. These keys are essentially your passcodes to access the crypto that you own. Having access to your private keys is important because without it, you wouldn't be able to prove ownership of your cryptocurrency. Through your digital wallet, you can send, receive and spend your cryptocurrency in one secure place. Unlike your physical wallet, your digital wallet is one you cannot lose.
