Hey there, Kickstarter crowd! Hope you're doing well!

I have to admit something: I've made a mistake. Hopefully, it's not a fatal error. Hopefully, you can forgive me for it.

But I only just realized that most of you probably have no clue who I am.

Generally, I try not to talk about myself too much — you're here for the stories, after all! But when someone new appears in my inbox, I like knowing at least a little about who the heck this person is.

So, in order not to be a complete stranger, here's a little about me:

This is me: Josiah, aka J.D.L. Rosell. I've been a full-time epic fantasy author since February 2021, though I first started writing novels back in 2014. Presently, I have over a dozen books published across several series, with more being written every day!

I live in Colorado, which allows me to indulge in my hobbies of hiking, camping, and landscape photography — the real-life adventures that supplement my imaginary ones.

I'm married and have two cats. As my wife, Kaitlyn, is as nerdy as I am, we've appropriately named our fur-babies Abenthy and Zelda. I'm sure you'll see plenty of them in future emails.

As my cats' names imply, I'm also a fan of video games, with one of my favorite series being Zelda. I've also thoroughly enjoyed Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Horizon: Zero Dawn, among many other titles.

Back on novels — I am (of course) a voracious reader and always have been. My first loves in fantasy were The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, which I've read about a dozen times, as well as the Dragonlance and Forgotten Realms books. Presently, some of my favorite authors are Robin Hobb, Patrick Rothfuss, N.K. Jemisin, Joe Abercrombie, and Mark Lawrence — though many others are pushing to get onto that list.

But enough about me! If you'd like to introduce yourself to me in return, reply to this email. I'd love to get to know you a bit!
