Read KU Fantasy! Win Prizes!
I've joined up with a group of top-tier indie authors to deliver a reading contest for you all (with a super-long title): Epic Fantasy Fanatics/Indie Fantasy Addicts Kindle Unlimited Fantasy Challenge 2020!
At its core, it's pretty simple:
- Read books that are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited now through Dec. 31st.
- Leave mini-reviews on social media for each book you read and rack up points.
- Get a lot of points to win prizes!
Here are the awesome prizes you can win:
- Grand Prize: Kindle Paperwhite (or $150 Amazon gift card)
- Second Prize: 6-month KU subscription (or $100 Amazon Gift card)
- Third Prize: $50 Amazon Gift Card
- Fourth Prize: $25 Amazon Gift Card
- Fifth Prize (25 available): $10 Amazon Gift Card
- Honorable Mention: (100 available): $5 Amazon Gift Card (minimum of 4 books to qualify)
As you can see, a lot of people can win! And to get you started, we sponsoring authors have a page with a bunch of our books currently in KU. Check it out and more about the contest through the button below!
Personal Update
Autumn is really beginning - which means, here in Colorado, it's time to go hunting for fall colors! My fiancée and I went driving around the mountain roads last week, and while it was a bit early for peak colors most places, we did find some rather nice spots!
As for the review update for A King's Bargain - I'm absolutely blown away, y'all. We're up from 83 Amazon ratings and reviews to a whopping 96! It's the final push to 100!
If you haven't left a review, get it in and snag the prestigious 100th review spot! (And, you know, my eternal gratitude, for what that's worth!)
A King's Bargain is a SPFBO Semifinalist!
Remember SPFBO, the Self-Published Fantasy Blog Off? For a refresher, it's a contest where 300 indie authors submit their fantasy books to being hacked apart - erm, I mean, judged - by ten prestigious fantasy blogs, who consequently select their favorites from their pool of 30 books.
In my pool (for the blog the Weatherwax Report), I'm pleased to say that A King's Bargain reached the semifinalist position! That puts it at being 1 of 60 or so books selected for the next round.
But it's a rollercoaster ride - for I learned yesterday it didn't quite make the Report's sole finalist. But such is the life of a contest! I'm just glad that my book made it as far as it did!
On Writing...
Crazy as it is the say, but... A Queen's Command is complete! And in just over a month, it'll be out in the world for you all to read! Hope you're excited!
So, what's next? It's a good question. The third Legend of Tal book is on my radar, and I loosely have it plotted as well as started. But before I dive in completely, I'm going to take some time to do another pass through Frozen Throne and see if I can't get it ready to complete the Wattpad serialization. It's only been about 3 years coming!
It helps to get excited for Frozen Throne as I just got a glimpse at the initial illustration for the cover last weekend. It's looking to be a beauty!
