Personal Update

Here's the big news: I'm going part-time writer beginning in September! My day job is fortunately flexible, and I've been able to reduce my hours down significantly to dedicate more time to writing.

What that means for you, of course, is you'll get even more stories from yours truly!

On Writing... A Secret Project!

The 3rd draft of A Queen's Command is now done! While I'm waiting for my fiancée to finish reading (and trying not to bug her about it too much), I'm giving myself a bit of a creative break.

No, not a break from writing, of course - what else would I do with myself?!

Instead, I'm taking a break by world-building and drafting a secret project! I'll let you know more as it develops, but it's an idea that's been knocking around my brain for awhile now and finally came to the fore.

What allowed me to pursue it now is the idea that I'll make it a "serial" - a series of episodic stories that will cohere into a "season," essentially like a TV series. Each "episode" will be about the length of the novella and build up for 6-8 books to round out the season.

All that to say it means I can easily dip in and out of it by writing episodes in between other projects. It always feels nice to be able to accomplish something a bit smaller while working toward completing novels!

For now, I've been writing the first episode before I dive into the next editing pass for Frozen Throne (or A Queen's Command if it's ready) in the next week or so.
