The Goodreads Choice Awards 2020 Have Begun!

Every year, Goodreads users nominate and vote for their favorite books of the year. In fantasy, there looks to be a pretty stellar line-up!

If you're interested in putting your two-cents into the awards, the contest is linked in the button below!

On Writing...

Progress on Secret Project 2 has not slowed in the least - we're now over 90,000 words, and very much approaching the climax. It's thrilling to be nearing the end of the first draft, and a little closer to officially announcing more about it!

Another project on my radar is Frozen Throne - which, for those of you who don't know, is the book I started serializing on Wattpad years ago, then stopped. Aided by my fiancée, I've recently had a realization for it that pushes its release date out a bit.

Here's the thing: I may have written only the first half of the book.

Don't get me wrong - it's a complete story as is. But at just over 80,000 words, it's fairly short for epic fantasy, and the breadth of the story could use some expansion so you get more bang for your buck.

As for how this affects the serialization, I'm not totally sure what I'll do about the second half to be written. But at the very least, I'll be serializing the first half - which, rest assured, is a satisfying arc in its own right.

And don't worry! The third Legend of Tal book is far from forgotten - and may very well come before I complete Frozen Throne. Stay tuned on that front!

Personal Update

In personal news, one thing that's been a positive change for me is the acquisition of a new standing desk - in a manner of speaking. This relatively cheap bit of equipment can be placed on top of any surface, transforming it into a standing workstation.

I've been enjoying mine thus far. I don't use it to write fiction, but it's been great for admin work and the day job.

If you spend a lot of time in front of a screen or sitting down, I'd recommend it! It only costs around $100.

Also, it's been fantastic seeing reviews and ratings trickling in for A Queen's Command, and some more for A King's Bargain! It's very much appreciated as always.

Please do review either or both of the Legend of Tal books if you haven't already! It helps me out a ton. Thanks in advance!
