WIP - Warrior
Here's a final look at book 10 in the Warrior Series! We've got a lot of action, a lot of swords, and an epic conclusion to the war that has been building from the start!
With a sword in each hand, she drove herself into the mass of Ciro soldiers, swinging and slicing as if she had carried the blades her entire life. It was reckless, and she knew it, but she needed to give the Coilleach something to rally behind. She was their Queen, and if she couldn’t save them, she would die with them.
Weaving and darting between attacks, Kahyr swung without mercy. The fire in her muscles only gave her more reason to fight. She dodged cuts, fists, and boots from the Ciro men, returning the favor with as much power as she could muster. Even as tips of swords stung her legs and kicks threatened to ground her, even as she lost one of her swords to a well placed punch to her already bleeding arm, she shoved through and found the strength to stand taller.
...
Kahyr turned, a flash of silver blurring her vision. She stumbled, somehow pulling her chin back far enough to keep the blade from embedding itself in her neck. The sharp tip still made it’s impact, though, sliding through the skin on her right jaw as blood spilled down her chest. The man immediately felt the payback, Kahyr’s blade shoving through his ribcage before she kicked him out of her path to dislodge it.

Question of the Week:
I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with the hubs on Star Wars day this week (yes, we got married during quarantine on Star Wars day). My question to you this week: who is your favorite character? (And if you don't watch Star Wars, who is your favorite character from your favorite fictional TV/movie universe?)
I love hearing from you guys and I respond to every email I get. If you're a little shy, fill out the 'ask me anything' form instead!
Some readers have had trouble responding to this email (it is sent by my mailing server) so if your reply has been sent back, make sure you're sending the email to author.laurawinter@gmail.com
Sending you love, kindness, and peace for wherever you are right now.
