WHAT PROBLEMS ARE YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS SOLVING

Hello amazing Entrepreneur,

I hope this meets you well and your week is up to a great and amazing start.

Back in 2009, my husband and I had just moved to a new environment. At this time I was pregnant with our first child and delivery date was around the corner.

After the excitement of moving into a new house was out of the way, it occurred to me that there was no emergency medical services / paramedics agency in my new environment.

Now, my husband and I are medical doctors. Should it be heard that I delivered a baby in an unpleasant situation with no medical help?

In addition to this, I also noticed that neighbours who knew we were doctors showed up for health advice at our home frequently.

Well, I immediately identified the problem of lack of hospitals in the neighbourhood, this was part of the incidents that sparked the idea of starting lifefount Hospital within me.

Now, what problem is your business solving? Identifying problems are fundamental to creating solutions. The more solutions you or your business  create the more money you make.

In my book, ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS A BEAUTIFUL THING, I spoke about four types of problems your business should be solving.

I will discuss just two here, while you can read up on others in the book.

PERSONAL PROBLEM

This is a kind of problem that you have yourself, and you are convinced of the fact that other people have the same. Solving such problems for yourself will give you an opportunity to commercialise the solution for others to enjoy.

PEOPLE'S PROBLEM

You can start a business by identifying other people's problems, although you may not experience them at all. For example, if you live in an area where public transportation does not exist and you can only give a ride to only four people in your car, while there are many others waiting tirelessly for buses or taxis. You can start a transportation and delivery business. This way, you bring solutions to individuals by helping them save time and be punctual. You also help businesses move their products from a point to another while they stay in their offices or spaces to work. Most solutions that come from the foundation of solving a particular problem usually do well. People buy solutions and not products.

Is your business solving other people's problems? Can you identify such problems?

Do not create a solution and  then start looking for problems it can solve rather, you should discover problems first and then create solutions for them.

So I want you to think deeply and identify the following

  1. The problems your business is currently solving
  2. What problems do you foresee in your niche that your business can prepare to solve.

I look forward to reading your replies, kindly let me know your thoughts about the emails and if there are specific subjects you want me to write about as it's touching entrepreneurship.

I celebrate you and I am cheering for your success.

Yours in Entrepreneurship,

Dr Yemisi Adeyeye.
