Coming Home to Myself: Owning My Power, Unapologetically

Dear ,
This came to me in my reflections yesterday.....
We are afraid of our own truth. Not because we don’t know it, but because we do. We feel our greatness stirring beneath the surface, whispering to us. And yet, speaking it out loud makes it real.
And real is terrifying.
Because when we own it, there’s no more hiding. No more shrinking. No more pretending to be anything less than who we truly are.
The Leadership I Never Claimed—Until Now
For years, I led without calling myself a leader. I built, inspired, created—yet I resisted the title. Leadership, as I understood it, came with a mold I never quite fit.
But now, as I am revamping my website, stripping away old stories and standing face-to-face with my reflection, I see the truth I can no longer deny:
I am a leader. Not because I strive to be—but because I always have been.
I have co-founded 17 schools and shaped the minds of thousands. I’ve served as Dean of Innovation and Instruction, Vice President in Higher Education, Director of the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and Principal of Housecraft Training Centre.
I've been recognized:
The Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Education (Jamaica).
Honors from the Caribbean Association of Catholic Teachers.
Recognition for groundbreaking research and
international humanitarian work in the USA, the Marshall Islands, Nepal, and the rural farms of Jamaica, empowering the poorest of the poor.
So yes, I am brilliant. I am bold. And I thrive in rooms where minds and ideas are sharp, where conversations ignite new possibilities.
I Want It All. And I Refuse to Choose.
I desire the fullness of life—the richness of experience and the richness of wealth.
Luxury? Absolutely. I deserve spaces of elegance, beauty, and refinement.
But I also crave the untamed: barefoot walks in the wild, climbing trees, sleeping beneath an endless sky.
I am called to hold hands with the broken, to do the work of mercy wherever and whenever I can.
Because leadership is not a role. It is not a title. It is a way of being. A truth we either claim—or deny.
I no longer deny mine. I am home in myself. Fully. Unapologetically.
And if you’re ready to embrace your own power—to stop playing small and start leading with clarity, impact, and soul—I invite you to join me.
Because I don’t just talk about transformation. I live it.
