Hey Calm & Colorful Mama!!
Did you know I've been traveling full-time by petsitting for the past 3 years? It’s been an incredible journey, and while it's not directly related to our mutual interest in supporting our children to gain emotional intelligence and self-discovery, it's a big part of my life that I wanted to share with you today. I hope that’s okay. In fact, our next big petsit is with bunnies and chickens! I am beyond excited!
Speaking of things you didn’t know... I was thinking about all the things I don’t know about nurturing emotional intelligence in children. So I spent some time on Google and found some really interesting stuff that I thought you might find fascinating, too.
Care to read?
#1 - Did you know that Mister Rogers, beloved host of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood," was a fierce advocate for children's emotional well-being? Not me!
#2 - The concept of emotional intelligence was first introduced by psychologists Peter Salovey and John Mayer in 1990. Imagine the impact their research has had on how we understand and support children's emotional development.
#3 - Around the world, millions of parents are actively engaging in activities to foster emotional intelligence in their children. And you and I are among them, dedicated to helping our little ones navigate their feelings and discover their true selves! How amazing is it that we found each other?
I could go on, but I do have a playdate with my little one today. Of course, there’s always time to hear more fun facts. Hit reply if you’ve got any that I didn’t mention.
I’d love to learn from you, too!
With love & gratitude,
Jessica Brittani
