Hi

Wasn't that a very useful and uplifting group session this morning! Well it always is in my opinion. Thank you for signing up for my newsletter its much appreciated.

Would you help me with any observations you may have about this newsletter (I sent it out yesterday) or any other content it would really help me. Please do feel free to ask the same of me. I am always keen to help my fellow artists out.

If any of you are around to come to my open studio in Brighton it would be lovely to meet you in real time.

All the very best to you

Work in progress called Entanglement 152cm X 122cm (each) acrylic, oil and spray paint on canvas

Hi good people, image

Well aren't well all just in dire need of Spring arriving!

How are you getting on?

March is in like a lion at the end of this week with the promise of longer days and the sun making more of an appearance...hooray!

I'm celebrating my 50th year this March and as part of my celebration I am inviting you to come join me for drinks and nibbles in my studio. It was so much fun catching up with a number of you at the last one in November. It's a chance to see what I have been beavering away at over the winter months before anyone else does, have a chat with me and to meet other art enthusiasts.

Help please!

I am wondering if you would be kind enough to help me decide when to have my open studio event? I have a couple of dates in mind for this event but I'm open to suggestions....Thinking either evening of 28th or 29th March with Saturday 30th during the day or 4th or 5th April in the evening with open on Saturday 6th April. What do you reckon? Should I open the Sunday too? Votes please! Hit reply.

Current view of my studio after studio visits last week

Exhibition news

I have been asked to exhibit in a salon show at a new space in the centre of Brighton called Tichborne Projects for the May festival which I'm excited about! More on this when I have the details myself.

I also have a few other plans on the go including a two person show in Kingston in the autumn and an art fair here in Brighton September, more on these as they unfold.

Here are some of my most recent handmade cyanotypes.... literally made them last week! I have taken these images over the last 20 years since moving to Brighton and are about the feeling and textures of being in the sea. This most recent set are made in the shape of finger prints marking our relationship with the sea.

I love the cyanotype process of using sunlight to expose the photograph and water to develop it, particularly as these images are of sun in and on water. The process has a low impact on the environment too. The blue is so nostalgic for me. I would love to hear your thoughts on them.....drop me a line by hitting reply!
