Dear good people,

I hope that your January is sailing along well on the wind of January!

I just wanted to share with you what a wonderful week I had last week in my new studio space on the residency I am on at Phoenix Art Space main gallery. Its an amazing opportunity that I’ve been given to use this exceptional space and be able to work alongside 3 other artist. See above my space.

My creative juices have been flowing profusely this week and I’m looking forward to another week like this one next week.

As part of the residency we are open to the public to come and see our work in progress and talk to us if you wish this is every Friday for the next 4 weeks 11am-5pm. Starting this coming Friday 20th and the final Friday 17th February 6-8pm . So please do pop in to see us! If you would like to come another time message me and we can arrange a visit.

Here are a few art experiments I’ve been working on this week, including working on a collaboration with one of the other residency artists April ….there’s lots more to come this week so by Friday there should be lots to see!

I also want to say thank you to those that have donated to my fundraiser for Parkinson UK by running the Brighton Half Marathon on the 26th February. I couldn’t thank all of you personally as some of you have chosen to stay anonymous….so thank you thank you thank you, you are helping a brilliant charity! So far You have helped to raise a fabulous £379! Which is amazing!

I know we can do better though! It’s not too late to donate so if you feel like you want to help make this hideous disease a thing that can be managed with a greater quality of life for its sufferers then please follow the link below

Since my last newsletter I have learnt that a dear friend has died, Gordon lived with Parkinson’s UK for some years. He fought bravely against it all the way to the end with an iron will! Which was so in his character to do so. He was a very fit and healthy living man. He ran half marathons & full marathons, worked out in the gym well into his 70’s , a really inspirational man. Unfortunately his fitness couldn’t stop him being afflicted by this cruel disease. But I believe his heathy lifestyle helped him to have more quality years before it stopped him. He also had the support of his wife Jane and he knowledge as a medical professional which no doubt helped his quality off life.

More people need to know all they can do to battle Parkinson’s and more research needs to be done …so many people suffer with it.

I am running this half marathon for him as well as my uncle who died just before Christmas.

Thank you & for your support.

Looking forward to seeing!

Nina
