What are you avoiding?
Dec 27, 2024 6:24 pm
Hello!
I am popping into your mailbox because you subscribed to my list or downloaded one of my books.
As we walk into 2025, I invite you to ask yourself - what are you avoiding? It is likely the thing you most need to address. The answers you seek can be found in the actions you avoid. Oof hey?
Here are a couple of chewy quotes for your enjoyment.
"Where you fear is, there your task is." Carl Jung
"Fear doesn't stop death; it stops life." Unknown
We could replace "fear" with many different words. Clutter, neglect, indifference, resentment, anger ... if you find yourself avoiding your life, step into it and claim it. You may not be able to create your dream life by next Monday, but nothing changes if nothing changes, and progress is more important than perfection. Take ACTION.
I am working on a new long-term project that required a serious equipment upgrade. I now sit in front of three screens and feel like I am piloting a spacecraft. Can we acknowledge how messy change is? I was so frustrated as I brought in this equipment, struggled to get it all set up and working, needed to change how I used my office space and had to deal with what I had been avoiding, but now, every time I walk into my office, I am delighted. And how you do one thing IS how you do everything. With my office and new workflow beginning to settle into a rhythm, I am up-levelling spaces all over my house and setting them up to support me in better ways. (This investment in change has bought me hours in time and efficiency.) But, there were days when I felt like none of this upheaval would be worth it. I was good at kicking the can down the road, partly because I had difficulty finding the time (and mental bandwidth) to address some things. Oh, how wrong I was. What might you need to change to uplevel your life and how you move through your days so that things feel more aligned with where you want to go?
ENTERING A NEW YEAR
I have spent the last week in reflection mode, looking at everything in my life and how it serves or blocks me. It is funny when you step back and look at the areas where you may be struggling and how evident some behavioural and thought patterns may become. I own it. But onward... I have to confess I have been a bit bored lately. I am craving some adventure, novelty, and maybe even more change.
