Happy Thanksgiving !
New to the newsletter? Who's the host:
Vacation Adventures by Vicki was formed out of the desire to be a blessing to others by providing an exceptional vacation experience at our favorite destination - The Great Smoky Mountains. All this, while providing flexibility to allow me (Vicki) to be there for my three teenage boys and my husband.
I have more exciting news... After achieving Superhost status with Airbnb, I also achieved Premier Host status with VRBO. I am proud that I continue to grow credibility as a host on these platforms, but what makes me truly happy is the reviews my guests have been leaving. I am continually blown away by the kind words. Check out my reviews here:
Speaking of happy guests, don't forget that not only do repeat guests get a discount, but I'd also love to give you a referral gift, so please share the word about our cabins. :)
What's new with our cabins:
Ridge Top Adventure Cabin
The fall colors were stunning this year! And opening up the view from our front porch sure paid off. The fall books up early in the Smokies, so if you're considering going next year, don't wait to book!
Hidden Adventure Cabin
Another view of that amazing opaque garage door leading into the indoor pool, with the sun shining down! We are anxiously awaiting for this cabin to be complete and ready to share!
Events in the Smokies:
There are so many events that last the whole holiday season long and are sure to create lasting memories. Here are a few highlights.
- Free events:
- Gatlinburg Winter Magic Lights self-guided tour
- Great Smoky Mountain Arts & Crafts Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Shows
- Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade in Gatlinburg
- Winterfest in Sevierville including Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland, tree lighting and 60th Annual Christmas Parade
- Winterfest Wonders of Light Walking Trail in Pigeon Forge

Check out the latest article in my blog:
A Local Legend, at least according to us!
If you're headed into Newport to shop or taking 40 in or out of TN, The Woodshed is a must stop restaurant for a meal. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. You can't go wrong here.
Smoky Mountain Bears:
As bears prepare for hibernation, they may may actually hunt for up to 20 hours a day. I don't know about you, but 4 hours of sleep and 20 hours of hunting sure sounds like a lot of work!
Check out this cute guy with a mouthful of leaves!

Until next month, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we are grateful for. I wish you all many blessings and much joy this holiday season.
All my best,
Vicki
