My darling ,

Hello and welcome back to your monthly Nariva Reset 🌿

Like every month I’m sharing with you seasonal ideas, travel‑inspired rituals, and a little dose of joy to help you rest, have fun, and rediscover your spark.

August always feels like Europe collectively exhales. Cities slow down, inboxes go quiet, and people scatter—off to beaches, back to family homes, or just out of office for a while.

I’ll be doing a bit of both this month: I’ll head off to Spain to stay with family and split my days between my laptop and an urban swimming pool—fuelled by tinto de verano and way too many tapas and pintxos.

This is the time for rest, reconnection, and remembering what it feels like to have a little more space in your day.

So wherever this month finds you—packing a suitcase, staying local, or dreaming of your next escape—here’s your August guide: seasonal rituals, travel-flavored inspiration, and a few things to make it all feel a little softer.

  • 🍿 Lazy summer bingeing: Netflix’ Too Much, in case you haven’t watched it yet. Think Emily in Paris meets Bridget Jones. Lena Duham (Girls) has a way of telling a story through quirky, random, weird dialogs that end up being beautifully tender.

  • Your August soundtrack: Netflix’ Too Much official playlist. An eclectic, delicious, cool mix perfect for a summer road trip - or work commute. By the way, 😆 I can’t get Fergie’s London Bridge out of my head.

  • Do give yourself the gift of a pause—a chance to slow down and recalibrate. But rest isn’t always about sleep or doing nothing. I loved this piece on the 7 types of rest—from sensory to social to creative—and how to actually give yourself what you need. It’s a good reminder that rest looks different for everyone (and every season).

  • I liked how this article talks about the difference between vacation and trip—because if you’ve ever traveled with family, you know that’s not always the same thing 😅 For me, August is definitely about vacation (hello, Spain and slow family time), but trips—the soul-nourishing kind—are what I create with Nariva. This piece has some gentle reminders on how to design a break that actually gives you what you need.

  • On the more practical side—because rest also starts with not overpacking— even though this is not exactly my packing method, its interesting concepts got me thinking.

  • These painted seashells looks so pretty and creative. 🐚 If you happen to be at the beach with kids, girlfriends or just yourself and decide to give it a try, I would love to see pics of your works of art.

  • And because August is also for eating light, fresh, and straight from the market... here’s a very good strawberry and cucumber salad recipe I’ve been loving. It’s bright, crisp, a little sweet, and basically tastes like a summer afternoon— perfect for lazy lunches, picnics, or just making your weekday plate feel a little prettier.

  • These citrusy icecubes look both fun and fancy, inspiring cocktails, mocktails, ice tea, lemonade and even plain water. 🧊 Do tell me if you know where to find the big ice cube mold though.

  • Need a little inspiration for slowing down before summer slips away? I loved this list of 10 self-care ideas—simple, grounding things you can actually do.Think of it like a self-care bingo card: maybe you check off a few, maybe just one, but the point is doing something just for you.

Here’s to soaking up summer, one joyful moment at a time.

See you in September —with more ways to reset, enjoy, and reconnect.

Love,

Caro

P.S. I had mentioned I was planning something special for Saturday 25 October. I will officially launch Nariva Travel with a magical day trip —think hidden gems, rich flavors, and good company. I wish I could invite every one of you but spots are very limited.
