Your November Reset Guide

My darling ,
November is here — my birthday month. Growing up in Buenos Aires, this time of year always felt like spring: warm breezes, blooming jacarandas, and a sense of renewal. Now, in Belgium, the season feels different. The days are shorter, the air is crisp, and the sky often wears a heavy grey blanket.
But there's beauty in this quiet, too. It's a time for reflection, for slowing down, and for honoring the rhythms of nature.
With Día de los Muertos approaching, I find myself thinking about those who came before us. It's a reminder to cherish the present and to carry forward the love and lessons they've left behind.
This year, I'm also seeking a bit of sunshine. To recharge and share special moments, I'll be taking my son to Lisbon for Herfstvakantie. It's a chance to explore, to breathe, and to gather inspiration for the months ahead.
In this November Reset Guide, you'll find simple rituals, nourishing recipes, and gentle invitations to help you embrace the season's quiet beauty:
🍲 Nourishing Golden Turmeric Lentil Soup
Warm up with this comforting and vibrant soup, infused with turmeric, ginger, and cumin. Perfect for chilly evenings, it offers both warmth and nourishment. I would add a dollop of Greek yogurt, just saying.
📜 A Manifesto for 40+
Midlife. Whatever. If you feel you are reluctanctly getting there, this article might be what you need to read today. A gentle rallying cry to own your present, seek joy quietly, and reframe the idea of “having it all.” Because I am looking to honor my journey and let my heart lean toward what feels alive right now, it got me thinking.
☕ The Power of a Slow Morning
For the last few months I've been waking up before 6:00 AM. Sometimes I get back to sleep for an extra hour. Sometimes I just get up and let the morning unfold on its own time. This article explores how slowing down before the world wakes can shift our whole mindset.
📺 My Fav Series: The Diplomat
It’s witty, tense, and brilliantly acted, blending international politics with just the right dose of personal drama. Keri Russell (Felicity, remember?) shines as a U.S. ambassador juggling diplomacy, crisis management, and a complicated marriage — all with style and grit. And what can I say about Allison Janney... I adore her since The West Wing times. I just binged Season 3, and can't wait for the 4th.
🍫 Indulgence in a Glass
When the evenings feel longer and you crave something sweet (and a little decadent), this Nutella Martini is your delicious answer. Whether you serve it after dinner, at a quiet moment with yourself, or for a small celebration, this drink brings a touch of playful luxury to your night. Or morning, no judgement.
📓 Journal Prompts for November
November invites a quieter kind of reflection — a pause before the year’s end, a space to notice what has shifted and what still matters. As the world outside turns inward, so can you. Here are a few prompts to guide that gentle look within:
- What have I learned about myself this year so far?
- Where in my life do I need to make more space — or set a gentle boundary?
- What would feeling truly restored look like for me right now?
🎧 A Perfect Escapist Listen
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a perfect November listen: immersive, nostalgic, and full of heart. Described like "an addictive Netflix documentary meets A Star is Born", it is told as an oral history of a fictional 1970s rock band. They made it into an Amazon Prime Series, but I'm lately more into audiobooks while I try to get to my 10000 steps a day.
👣 10 Minute Guided Walking Meditation
Speaking of 10K steps, this guided walking meditation promises to help reduce stress and anxiety. There are parts of my (working) day when I need a break to realign and get grounded, so I will be giving this one a try.
Whether November finds you turning inward, lighting candles, or holding memories of those you love, I hope you find soft moments of comfort, beauty, and deep connection. A few quiet rituals, a story or two, and the willingness to breathe will carry you through.
Here’s to your November reset — a month of reflection, small joys, and thick socks under the blanket.
Love,
Caro 🍁
