Hey
Running with others can be a truly great experience, honestly.
The laughs, the energy, the boost it can give you mentally
(although there are not many laughs if you have to 'go'
in the middle of a 20 miler whilst hiding in a bush).
Still, the positives outweigh the negatives...
Most runs are done on my own.
It can be tricky
Different folk doing different sessions
Going out at different times
No one to look after the kids
Family commitments
I get it
That's why we usually meet up at 7am on a Sunday
Peak running time
Bleary eyed
Breath still reeking of last night's garlic bread
But Sunday morning is when a lot of people choose to do their 'long' run
Canal paths stoud
Shouts of 'MOVE TO THE RIGHT!'
Pissed off dog walkers
But being in a group is a fantastic shared experience
Running in sync
Feeling the togetherness
Feeding off the energy
All working toward the same goals
And the smile's afterwards (and sometimes cake)
Along with the respect gained and the kudos given
And the obligatory group 'selfie'
Means only one thing, looking forward to next weeks Sunday long run (and hopefully no hiding in bushes doing your 'thing')
If you change one thing change this
SHARE A LONG RUN WITH OTHERS
