RUNNING IS ONLY HALF OF THE FITNESS EQUATION

Hey
I’m always thinking about the physical vs the non physical aspects of life
Running keeps you fit physically, of course
But, there are lots of other things that one can do to 'keep fit'
Eat well
Think well
Take walks
Read a book
Get out in fresh air
Meditate
Visualise
Learn
Smile
Talk to others
Run with others
Try something different
Focus on positive thoughts
Let go of negative thoughts
Think about things in different ways
Cultivate meaningful relationships
Develop new perspectives in life
Change who you are becoming
Get excited about the future
All of these things add up to the total economy of 'fitness'
Physical and non physical together is the answer
If you want to crack on with 8 x 1km then go for it, but do it with others
Do it with a smile on your face (usually a grimace with km reps)
Always promote those thoughts that are going to serve you (even if the session isn't going as planned)
And be dam proud of yourself for showing up
Celebrate the small wins
The everyday wins
That's the marriage of good mental and physical aspects of life coming together
Really that's what fitness comes down to
Output not outcome
