Hello VIPs!
Good news, I'm keeping busy. I'm currently writing the last Dark Fairy tale. Here's a taste of it. NOTE: (This is an unedited rough draft.) Can you guess which one it is?
-------Teaser----------
“If we don’t sell the car we’re not going to have enough money to pay the rent this month, or next month,” Richie complained as he looked at the pile of bills on the kitchen table he’d been tormented by.
“We need the car,” Diego said as he scratched at his brow trying to figure out if they have any other options.
“Well, if we don’t sell the car, we’ll be living out of it,” Richie pointed out. “If you hadn’t gambled away our rent money—”
Diego held his hand up. “I know, I know. You chewed my ass out over that already. I fucked up, but I promise, I’ll make it up to you.”
“How? We’re about to be homeless.”
“I’ll sell the car for a price that will have us paid up for at least four months. I should be able to get a job by then,” Diego said. He hated that he’d once again, let his husband down. He had big dreams for them, but they not one had panned out, but that didn’t stop him from trying.
“I hope so,” Richie said.
Diego sighed and walked over to the love of his life and knelt down beside him. He placed his hand on Richie’s thigh. “Look, I know I’ve let you down and you must really love me because you’re still with me. I won’t let you down again, I promise. Do you trust me?”
Richie was silent, which made Diego worry.
“Do you trust me?” Diego asked again, this time with a more earnest tone.
Richie nodded. “I’ve always trusted you. I’m just scared.”
“I know, I’m sorry,” Diego said, then he lifted a bit to hug Richie. “Don’t worry, we’re not going to be homeless.” he released Richie and rose. “I’m going to sell the car. I’ll be back.”
“Be careful,” Richie said.
“I will.” Diego leaned down and kissed Richie before leaving.

While driving to a car dealership, the third one so far because he didn’t like the low offers from the other two, he nearly hit an elderly lady who was crossing the street. He climbed out of his car and rushed to her side, helping her to her feet, as the fright she had made her lose her balance.
“I’m so sorry, are you okay?” Diego asked.
“Oh my, that was a close one. Yes, yes, I’m fine,” the lady said.
“I didn’t see you,” Diego said because it was true. The woman seemed to appear from out of nowhere.
“It is fine, young man. Our meeting was fated,” she said.
Diego blinked at that, confused as to what she’d meant by it. Fated was a huge stretch for something that was accidental. At least, that’s how he felt. “I’m just happy you’re okay,” he said, hoping she wouldn’t want to sue. He sure as hell couldn’t afford it.
The lady smiled at him and looked at his car. “Oh, that’s a classic.”
Diego turned to his 1960 Dodge Charge and smiled. “She sure is. But unfortunately, I have to let her go.”
“Oh my, you’re selling such a beautiful automobile?” the woman said with a frown on her face.
“I have no choice.”
“I’ll buy it from you?”
Diego frowned. “What?”
The woman reached into her purse and pulled out five black beans that shined in the palm of her hand. They looked almost like jewels and had Diego captivated.
“What are those?” he asked.
“These are magic beans and they will bring you good fortune,” she said.
“Are they expensive?” Diego asked.
“They are priceless,” the woman replied.
“Then why are you giving them to me?” Diego asked.
“Because, as I’ve said, our encounter was fated. Take the beans for the car,” the woman encouraged.
Diego studied the beans real hard, then he turned to look at his car. Could he sell their car for the beans the woman claimed were magic? He’d already let his husband down many times before trusting the wrong people and getting scammed. He couldn’t do that to Richie again, could he? I mean, what if the beans really were magic? Could he give up this rare opportunity?
I’ll make the decision easy for you,” The woman said.
Diego turned to face her and the woman blew something in his face. The world when fuzzy, then black. When he came to, his car was gone and the beans were laying on the ground beside him.
“What the fuck just happened?” Diego asked himself as he sat up. His head was still foggy, but he struggled to piece together the details. Did he just get robbed? Who was that woman? Worst of all, what was he going to tell Richie?
-------end of teaser----- You just know Diego is going to have trouble trying to tell Richie that he lost their rent money. LOL
