Medication Spotlight: Tadalafil
Tadalafil, known by its brand name Cialis, is often utilized in Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), though its primary medicinal use is for erectile dysfunction. Its function comes from selectively inhibiting Phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE 5), an enzyme found in blood vessel walls. This process causes vasodilation, or an increase in blood flow. Originally, Tadalafil was developed as a cardiac drug, but once drug companies got wind of the other benefits....well, the rest is history.
Tadalafil proves beneficial in many areas when combined with TRT. Aside from improving erectile function, Tadalafil can benefit TRT users by alleviating symptoms linked to an enlarged prostate, reducing blood pressure (slightly), and helping to control serum estrogen levels. Its vasodilatory effect also benefits skeletal muscle, visceral smooth muscle, and, to a lesser extent, organs like the heart, kidneys, and liver. Reportedly, Tadalafil may also reduce muscle soreness, help recover from sports injuries more quickly, and improve cardiovascular health by aiding the repair and recovery of blood vessel walls.
Micro-dosing Tadalafil (between 2.5 to 5mg daily) is a common practice to achieve stable serum concentration levels.

Clinic Update: New TRT Administration Routes Coming
In January, we plan to offer even more customized options for Testosterone replacement therapy. These options will include oral capsules, as well as topical treatments such as creams and gels.
Intramuscular (IM) administration is an effective and safe method of administering hormone replacement therapy, however oral and topical medications do have some advantages that go beyond simply avoiding needle sticks.
Anticipate a complete launch in January, with a December newsletter providing details about the various options. Please bear with us as we collect more information about dosage and administration of these new methods to serve you all better.
And finally,
We are so thankful for you all and wish you a very splendid Thanksgiving!
Gobble Gobble,
