So I didn't send an email last fortnight... Sorry!!! I was busy getting ready for

Freeplay: The World's Longest Running Independent Games Festival

Which just wrapped up last Saturday!

I got to experience a megagame for the first time, where I played an exasperated museum curator trying to stop the onset of space fascism! Shut Up & Sit Down did a really cool video on a megagame that explains the basic idea of the format if you're interested! If you live in a city you might have a megagame group near you.

I also gave a talk about running indie arts spaces with my buddy Null. We work hard running a cute punk events/coworking space here in Melbourne and we've learned a lot doing so! Both practical and more emotional/spiritual stuff. Apparently people really liked it! There will be an online recording at some point in the future, so I'll throw it to ya in a future email.

Finally, I got to do an awesome little installation at the Freeplay Night Market. I made a game called Fleeting Friends last year: you create little Tamagotchi-like creatures, and print them out on receipt paper. Because receipts fade over time, you need to cherish the time you have with your lil friend! It was so cute seeing folks all get attached to their little guys. It's a shame I can't really share this game with y'all overseas folks!!! Maybe one day!!!

So yeah! It's been a big couple weeks. Frankly, I still have a few more big ones ahead of me, but gosh, I am CHOMPING AT THE BIT to make some more videogames. You have no idea.
