New Book: Mini Habits for Fitness

I've released a new book called Mini Habits for Fitness: The 60-Day Plan to Rebuild Your Relationship with Exercise.
This is the third Mini Habits book, and the first one in nine years (Mini Habits for Weight Loss was a 2016 release)! As you can see from the subtitle, the idea is to approach exercise and fitness from a relationship perspective, and rebuild it from the ground up in a healthy way. Let me explain what I mean by that.
Most fitness programs and books offer people recipes. Do these exercises in these amounts and get results. The issue with that is, of course, that we're so sore on day 3 that we never want to work out again. Whatever short-term results we may get is overshadowed by a less favorable view of exercise. The relationship suffers.
This book uses the mini habit method to make you enjoy exercise more. How?
- It increases your familiarity with it (and familiarity generates fondness)
- Daily exercise frequency increases your subconscious preference for it (habit)
- Small, palatable sessions ensure that you don't get overwhelmed
- You no longer act from shame or a desire for results, you act from a place of power
- Bonus reps when you're motivated keep you from feeling "held back." There's no ceiling on any day!
These are just a few of the ways in which this approach is different. Another big difference is the format.
Unique Daily Format
Most books: Read this book, and then apply it. Try to remember it all!
This book: You read a short section per day. The content is suited for what day you read it on. For example, Day 14's message will be different from Day 37 because I know your brain will be in a different place then.
This is the absolute best application for mini habits, because the challenge with them isn't physical (they are easy!), but mental (you can lose focus). This book will keep you on track.

The Most Meaningful Before/After Picture Ever!
The typical fitness program loves to show off before/after pictures. None were more stunning than Danny Cahill's transformation on The Biggest Loser show. He lost 239 pounds. But like many, Danny's results didn't last. He's since regained most of the weight he lost on the show. Nothing about that lifestyle was sustainable or desirable, so this should surprise no one.
To be clear, most of weight loss happens in the kitchen, but exercise plays a major role in shaping the body. Instead of spiking his exercise routines to extreme levels and then falling off a cliff, what if Danny had gradually built up a consistent routine that he enjoyed? He would still be improving today!
Thus, the before/after "picture" I'm providing for this book is not visual, but relational. You can take a pre-book exercise relationship assessment and get scored at one of five levels.
Exercise Relationship Levels
Level 1 (Score 0-20): Strong aversion to exercise
Level 2 (Score 21-40): Some discomfort
Level 3 (Score 41-60): Neutral
Level 4 (Score 61-80): Positive feelings
Level 5 (Score 81-100): Love/Addiction
Then, after you go through the 60 days, you can take another assessment. You'll be able to see how much your relationship with exercise has improved by comparing your before/after score. And an improved relationship with exercise is precisely the foundation you need to achieve any and all of the higher end fitness goals you have.
We've all tried the extreme workout programs (including myself). How many of us are still doing them? *crickets* My exercise habit today is strong (and even extreme at times) not because of those programs, but because over 10 years ago, I decided to do ONE push-up. That was day one of my mini habit and the rest is history.
More about the book:
- 216 pages
- Six themed 10-day sections (With a custom comic every 10 days)
- Currently available on Amazon Kindle (Paperback and Audiobook soon!)
- The BEST implementation of the mini habits strategy
- The BEST idea for a 2026 resolution that can actually last!
- The BEST $5.99 investment of all time!
If you've been wondering where I've been, well, I've been working on this book. This could be my last book, but I won't close that door completely.
Thanks for reading my work over the years. I hope you enjoy and most importantly apply this book. At this point, I have a lot of anecdotal data showing that this strategy works extremely well for behavior change, and this format will improve upon that already-high success rate. I'm excited to see your before/after scores. (Further instructions are inside the book.)
