The Sufi moving meditation teaches the art of letting go.

I say "art" because it is not always clear when to surrender and when to doggedly preserve. Discernment is necessary.

By increasing spiritual intelligences and opening you to the desires of the heart, the Sufi moving meditation develops your discernment.

My discernment says take a break.

For the past 3 weeks I have been struggling with an unstable internet connection while at our cabin in La Pine, Oregon. This unreliable connection has repeatedly disrupted my Friday Sufi meditations classes.

I have tried everything I can think of to make it better including changing cellular service providers.

I thought once the July 4th holiday was over, the connection would improve. It hasn't.

I thought if I blurred my background and asked everyone to turn off their videos, I could still lead my Friday class. Wrong!

A zoom call yesterday with only 2 other people made this clear. We had to complete our call by telephone.

Sufi meditation class can not happen without video and computer audio and I have neither. Finally, I am accepting what is -- I can not teach the July 14 class.

Vacation comes from the root word “vacate” which means “to empty.” That is what we are meant to do on vacation — empty our minds and our calendars and take a break.

It used to be so obvious, so natural when there was no other choice. But, all this new technology — cell phones, zoom, hot spots —has made it possible to take our work with us -- almost anywhere. And we do! I do! It is the new normal.

STOP! The universe is telling me. But, isn't Sufi class exempt? Nope, not even Sufi class! 

Thus -- the following Sufi meditation classes have been cancelled: July 14th Sufi class, July 28 and Aug 4th. 

I plan to teach next Friday, July 21, just before I leave for Sufi Camp in Torreon, New Mexico. Inshallah (God willing). Stay tuned.
