I loooove my frozen berries in a super shake and love what @kids.eat.in.color put together here. It's a myth that fresh is better than frozen fruits and veggies. I get this DM at least once a week: "I heard you say frozen veggies are good and now I don't feel like a failure!" The fact is, fresh and frozen foods have different benefits over the other. Both provide vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, plant compounds, and fiber. Whatever works for your family right now is what's best for you. ? As opposed to refined grains, which have been linked to many health issues, whole grains have been linked to a variety of health benefits, including a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancer. They are also a good source of fiber, B vitamins and several minerals, such as zinc, iron, magnesium and manganese. Just make sure to read the label to ensure that your bread is made with whole grains only, not a mixture of whole and refined grains.
